Filming 21/03/17

Today we filmed the final scene to complete our thriller opening. The props used for this scene were carefully put together to provide the pinnacle of the opening the audience has been waiting for, it creates questions that will be answered through the duration of the film. The opening does not give the plot of the film away but hints to some key themes within it. We worked on this since receiving critique on our previous opening attempt. We were able to achieve this through intense planning, building on the positives of the previous opening and modifying the weak points. I bought the crime board and researched the layout of crime boards used by detectives, this is where the pins and red string idea originated from as from my research i found this is how detectives link people, places and ideas together. The crime board is filled with doctors notes, letters, maps, mugshots and observational snap shots. This is to show that Lucas' character is being followed and observed, this leaves the audience wondering why and questioning if his intentions at the graveyard were as innocent as they seemed. This juxtaposition effectively is what the group has aimed for since first filming, so for the final result to relate back to this theme is as intended. As a group we will now begin the final stages of editing as my next blog will explore.
