Today we filmed the majority
of the shots we would need for the bulk of our opening. We made sure that we
took some time to practice some shots before shooting the shots we needed
to be precise and exact to see how the shots will relate to what we need
the opening to convey. When filming we noticed that the lighting
was completely different to when we had filmed establishing shots of
the graveyard in our previous filming session. The setting had also
changed slightly as the trees that were bare when we filmed before and now
were covered in blossom. Because of this we decided we had to film the establishing
shots again. We tried to replicate the shots as best we could as they flowed
nicely when we had edited them together. When filming shots with
Lucas in we made sure that we followed the preproduction list, the varied shots
that we were able to shoot conveyed the suspense and tension needed
them to. We also had to consider how the shots would work with the edition of
the soundtrack and sound effects. We also had to take into consideration the
lighting on the day as the strong natural lighting provided by the
sun gave us something else to carefully watch as when taking certain shots,
we had to make sure that whoever was filming took a few steps back to
allow their shadow to stay out of the frame. The costume wore by Lucas
conveys his 'dark secrets' it also contrasts against the light
setting and sky. He almost blends in with the shadows cast buy the
sun, this could relate to how he tries to remain hidden being all alone in the
graveyard. I chose A-Level Media as it is a truly contemporary subject which is relevant to my life. The media saturates everything we do in the developed world of the 21st Century. Taking this subject will hopefully give me the tools to analyse and critique the media and give me the chance to see the ways in which the media affects my life.
